TV & Theatre Lighting

Theatre lighting has been my hobby for more than 10 years. Whilst at Shrewsbury School I held the position of Head of Theatre at the 250-seat Ashton Theatre

I have lit a wide range of productions ranging from lectures to musicals including many rock and classical concerts, revues, plays and fashion shows.

Between 1995 and 2000 I was involved in the Kingsland Grange productions of The Vaccies, Grease, Oklahoma!, Guys and Dolls and My Fair Lady.

In 1999 I visited the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with a Shrewsbury School production called Jekyll!, an original musical with a cast of 60. The production was awarded 5 stars and a coverted Fringe First Award from The Scotsman newspaper.

I returned to the Edinburgh Festival in 2000 with a new production of The Lost Domain for which I was Head of Lighting. The show ran for 14 nights and was awarded 4 stars. In 2001 I lit the show again when the company performed at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London with reviews in The Guardian and The Scotsman amongst others.

Television Lighting

My aim is become a television studio lighting director. So far I have done work experience at BBC Birmingham working on Mindlands Today, Children in Need and the daytime soap Doctors.
